The Female Health Company Receives New Distribution Order From Major West Coast Drug Chain

Reality ® Female Condom™ now in distribution at all major chain drug stores

CHICAGO (October 27th, 1999)- Longs Drug Stores of Walnut Creek, CA will be adding the Reality® female Condom™ to its family planning assortment, The Female Health Company (OTC Bulletin Board: FHCO) announced today. With close to 400 stores, Longs Drug has a dominant presence and significant market share on the West Coast.

The female condom is now in distribution at all major chain drug stores in the U.S., accounting for approximately 14,000 outlets. Mass merchandisers, food combination stores and independent pharmacies also stock the female condom, adding an estimated 6,000 additional channels of distribution. In total, approximately 20,000 stores carry the female condom.

The female condom, manufactured by The Female Health Company, is the only product controlled by women that helps to prevent STDs including HIV/AIDS and unintended pregnancy. The female condom is made of polyurethane, which is strong and unlikely to rip or tear during use or cause allergic reactions. It is manufactured in a state of the art facility in London, England.
